1. The bad foot chicken is a bad leg chicken the "Knee" does not bend. It is locked in place.
2. The bators have simple themo. in them which I trusted.
I put a digital themo. in and found the temp in one right on. These eggs should hatch today/tomorrow (I hope)
My still air was set at...
Ok
one that hatched on friday night came from the smallest egg in the bator. He is doing (is it bad luck to real positive) fine. Two others have hatched saturday/sunday day 25. Not sure about the rest. The other bator are "set" to hatch on Wed (day 21).

Just remember black snakes eat mostly mice and RATS.
They also contol baby opusoms (sp), cats, and skunks.
I release them in my barn and have never had a problem in the coop or the rabbit hutches.
Of course the releases are done while my wife is at work.
If she were home...then I would have...
a little gas in a old style pump oil can does the trick.
My grandpa used to put it in a can an hit the nest with it right about dark.
kills them dead. Right now.
Might try early in the am and open up the coop to air out.
Note...no smoking;)

Hi
I just started last year myself but here is what I found about eggs.
1. Check with the local Farm Service Office. They know your local farmers. I got 3 dozen eggs for my incubator at school. (sucess not yet determined)
2. Check with your local FFA or 4H. Again you can find local...
Well....as I was getting ready to leave Friday with my boys (12 and 13) the oldest one says
"Hay dad did you notice that this egg is starting to crack open?"
It had just popped open the shell and was moving a bit. Had to leave but will check back about 1pm today. (sat) (thank goodness we...
I got my information from the local farm exten. office.
(Incubators, handouts, diagrams, development charts.)
All I had to do was find the eggs and that was easy.
I teach in a south east Ohio district (rural) but it is
unbelievable how many kids have NO real idea about

Ok so I teach science and raise a few chickens...
I placed eggs (chicken) in a dome bator on 4/2. Everything I have read says 21 days later I'd have chicks.
It's the 25...ie day 23...no pips and no chicks. We have checked the temp and hum everyday....no problems.
We opened an egg on day...
well about 4 weeks ago we lost our PR hen to a hawk...
looked like a JV red shouldered hawk...We ran the hawk off. cleaned the hen and ate her.
\\Just part of free range\\
The hawk has never come back (knock wood).
I would not kill a hawk or owl. They are protected under federal law...
I used excell and created a spead sheet.......
However I am not sure how to handel the "lost" eggs...like when we uncovered our RIR on a nest in the weeds with 13 eggs in it.
Last weekend we found our Pr on 3 in the barn.
Now I take what we can find and go with it
