    Emu/large flightless bird coops!

Really? I'd heard somewhere that EEs tended to be flighty. I guess it just depends on the birds

    Emu/large flightless bird coops!

They sure are picky little things. I've only ever had Black Stars, but my girlfriend had a pair of RIR hens and they were pretty bad too, always trying to get in the house. They used to sit on the couch and watch TV with her dad– it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen.

    Emu/large flightless bird coops!

haha alright. Thank you! I'll most likely wind up using straw. I used shavings for my black Stars and it was the only thing they wouldn't kick out of the nest haha

     grass enough

Just as a general rule, if I can't eat it I wont feed it to my animals, so I wouldn't.

    Alpacas and chicken together?

That's a good point, I didn't think of that. It's definitely a good idea to keep feed separate and at the very least in difficult to open containers for the Chickens so the alpacas don't eat all the chicken feed. When I had quail and chickens (before my last hen passed and I set my sights on...

    Emu/large flightless bird coops!

Are they really? I didn't know that! I meant coop as a general term, obviously I'm not going to squeeze them into a little 4ft tall coop and run lol, it sure would be strange to see that! And I was thinking of what materials I might use as a base rather than wood so it will remain strong and...

I want a Emu and need Adivice!

Rabbit pellets have more fibre and vitamins than regular duck or chicken crumble/pellets. Emu need 20% protein as well, roughly.

    Emu/large flightless bird coops!

Hey there, I was wondering if anyone has any special instructions or specific tricks that work best when creating a nighttime pen for large birds such as Rheas, Emus, or Ostrich. I'll be getting a pair of Emu eggs soon and I would like to have a little insight on what conditions their...

    Alpacas and chicken together?

I would definitely have separate pens just for the introduction see how they like one another, and then if they get along, you could definitely keep them together. I've seen horses give chickens a sideways glance and then simply carry on with their business. It depends on the animals. Make sure...

that's a good idea, and show birds really are ridiculously expensive. What never ceases to amaze me is the cost of perfection. Good luck to you in your quest to find it, especially in such a large breed of chicken!

Erice the Emu and Eight Wild Chicks

I plan to be careful and candle as best as I can throughout. The seller is reputable and though I never put 100% trust in anything, I do have a replacement insurance with him for infertile rotten eggs, so hopefully all will be well.

    Arizona Chickens

Oh! So are you breeding them for show or to sell to chicken show-ers? Or just as a personal goal to have beautiful hens and cockerels? Haha yes I must admit bantams aren't my style either, I was just curious. I've always loved the large breed birds (with the exception of my Black Stars...

What is SOP B/B/S? I'm a little unfamiliar with australorps as I've never had nor handled them before. I dont think I asked earlier, but do you breed bantam or standard?

In my case that means a possibile maximum of 58 days wearing it. The longest I've gone in the past was a mere 23 Yay for more than doubling the time of misery for the sake of babies. That's what pregnant ladies do with a lot more pain and for a lot longer, so I believe it shouldnt be too...
