    You can also get resting mats for your rabbits if you think sore hocks may be an issue. I put them in mine just in case.

    I build my hutches 30”x30” and 18” high. Use 1”x1/2” wire or 1/4”x1/4” wire for the floors. For the sides and top you can use 1”x2” wire but you may want to put what they call a baby saver. Smaller wire around the bottom to prevent babies from falling out the cage shoukd your doe have them...

    8 older birds and 25 younger ones. I will be culling the roosters so the # of birds is likely to go down. I only plan on keeping 20. The coop itself is 8x12 and the run is 20 x 15.

    I’m no means an expert but it could be from over crowding. From y understanding you want 2-4sqft per bird of floor space on the coop and 10sq ft of run space per bird minimum. Now like I said I’m not an expert with this just a suggestion

    I have chickens for eggs and occasionally meat. Will be doing broilers once I get everything lined up. I also have rabbits for meat and for selling as well. A duck for a pet and occasional eggs. A potbelly pig for a pet as well.

    I have some Orpingtons who are 8 weeks old at the moment and I got about 25 more that range 1 week-3 weeks old. Will I have any trouble when putting these other birds in the coop/run with my older birds. I never introduced younger birds into a flock yet

    When you scald them your ideal temperature is 150 degrees, leave them for 15-30 second intervals and try pluck the feathers and repeat until they come out relatively easy. Also too long in the plucker will rip the soft skin as someone said before.

    Me, personally if it’s 25 all year I don’t think it’s worth the $400+ investment. But if you get a used one as you said at a good price I’d go for it. Otherwise I’d probably resort to the plucker you attach to a drill or a bench grinder.

    I got it at a local feed store and it is supposed to be a Buff Orpington. She was the same size of the others at the time I got them.

    I got all my baby chicks at about 2-3 days old but I have one that’s way smaller than the others and not growing at the rate of the others. Is this normal? They are all about 3 weeks old now.
