Hello all,
Thought I'd share with you my latest coop run design.
We had a problem with an ermine recently and I had to completely tear down the old run and build a new one (below). The link is for more pics & details on construction.

Hi All,
We lost our rooster Al this morning. So very sad. He was a good bird.
I just wanted to thank everyone for their help. It's nice to know there are people out there that will take the time to give advice to a stranger.
A speedy recovery to all chickens!
RIP Al (Alexander)

Judith,
I wish I could help. You should read through the other posts.
I have read a couple over the last 24 hours on both discharges from the mouth and about hens that are egg-bound.
Some of the info is already out there.
Maybe someone that has answered this type of ailment in the past could...
Hi Everyone,
Well Al the rooster seems to be doing a slight bit better but I think it's too early to tell.
He's had his first dose of de-wormer, Wazine, a couple of hours ago.
I've tried to hydrate him but he doesn't want to drink so I've had to inject a mix of Pydialyte and apple cider vinegar...
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I'm running out the door now to get some de-wormer.
Thanks for these responses. It means a lot to me!
Dave
PS I'll keep you posted

2. He does not eat or drink.
3. Most of the time he is standing.
4. His comb and wattle appear to be normal in color. Maybe a bit on the dark side.
I know this question is a dime a dozen but please help me diagnose...
My rooster is in the same condition.
Have you checked for mites?
If you dont get any replies, look for my post "Sick Rooster. Please Help."
Maybe someone will answer my post first.
I'll be checking yours for suggestion too.
Good luck.

Hello All,
Yesterday my wife noticed our only rooster laying down in the coop and being unresponsive.
We separated him from the flock and put him in a dog kennel inside the house.
I combed through his feathers to check for mites and I did see one. Just one. We've had a problem in the past with...
Hello,
New to the board and am looking forward to exchanging advice, tips, and stories.
I have a unique situation where I am off-grid and cannot heat my coop with electricity. I can provide a light to keep the hens laying however it would not give off heat since it is a compact florescent.
I'm...
