    Hens or Roosters?

Little Lemon and Loki are both male (Little Lemon was a surprise!) And Pingu looks to be a hen as there hasn't been much comb and wattle development, and she hasn't tidbitted or crowed thus far. Little Lemon has been tidbitting and growing copper-red feathers while Loki has some gold coming in...

    Hens or Roosters?

Loki has also started having a hoarser voice has been and tidbitting which also cleared up any suspicion I had. The other two chicks also see him as a leader figure and follow him more than they do their adoptive mum, Betty, at this point. They were also with their main mum Dolly, but she...

    Hens or Roosters?

They hatched 14th December and it is 31st of Jan now so they aren't quite two months old yet, but are nearing it. Also they are fully feathered barring their heads and a little bit of their chests. I only have 3 but I think you meant 5th pic? Here's more pics of Loki. He is the hardest to...

    Hens or Roosters?

Got three little Serama chicks who are 7/8 weeks old, one who is 100% a boy and two who look to possibly be hens? Though could also be boys. Possible hens: Little Lemon Pingu: 100% da boi: Loki... Named such as he is always looking to see what trouble he can get himself into. Also always on...

    Runt or Slow Feather Boy?

Also, Runty has been pushed around by their larger siblings recently during feeding time, so I am making sure they get enough to eat by doing this.

    Runt or Slow Feather Boy?

Little runty looks to have hardly changed throughout the weeks, but is still chugging along. In comparison, here's one of their siblings who are the same age:

What would happen if I bred...

Tiny met her child for the first time, and was petrified. 🤣

    Runt or Slow Feather Boy?

This little Serama looks a week or two younger than it's siblings and has delayed feather development compared to them. They are all 3 weeks old, and all them including the runty one are eating and drinking fine. The two mother hens seem to be preferring the runty chick over the others as well...

    Breeding questions

I don't have any experience with breeding pigeons or keeping them in lofts, just in keeping singular pet ones. ^^; Though if Squabble is anything to go by, who even tries flirting with his own shadow, siblings will likely pair up and breed if there's no unrelated birds, though could still do...

    Is there any hope?

Easily done tbh, it is hard to tell with pigeons. 😄 Squabble acts like a male and hasn't laid any eggs, despite often going broody, so I am pretty certain the crazy sky ferret is a boy.

    Is there any hope?

He is a little butt. XP But has his sweet moments among the craziness. They are seriously underrated pets.

One of my gals lays massive eggs for her size, and I find them to be decent layers. The eggs do have a shorter shelf life though, compared to other eggs. The roosters do sound like little squeaky toys and are quieter, though higher pitched. The birds are also smaller so you can keep more in a...

    My new Seramas 🥰

Beautiful featherbabies! Can't wait to see them either! My babies are growing up big and strong, and have started flapping around and perching. This one is the serama-mix chick who is full of personality and sass.

    Is there any hope?

Unfortunately neither of the eggs made it, but the 5 chicks who hatched are growing big and strong, and are brimming with personality and a lot of sass.

    Young Cockerel Mating Behavior

My boys can go a bit nuts if new hens are introduced to the flock, but quickly settle and become gentlemen again. The hens also have a preference for certain roosters that they respect, no rooster drama or hen chasing as they have their own hens as well as the hens who let both mount them. Just...

Serama Chick Care, Am I Doing It Right?

Basically my dad at 8 pm today when checking on the chicks whilst I was asleep... Dolly is sweet and is basically a living blanket. Betty however is a very protective broody and only lets me and Dolly handle the chicks, going velociraptor on anyone and anything else.
