    I have 5 barred rocks 5 R.I.Rs and on SS she has been laying for maybe2 or 3 months now and she definitely lays a smaller egg than the rest. Pretty easy to spot the SS egg. She is also makes way more noise than the others

    Built a box and just use Wood ash. When the ground is not frozen they make their own in the dirt

    I have 2 hard boiled eggs every day during the week. I started to save the shells my question is can I feed them back as is? I already crushed them by hand so the size is pretty small. Any reason they would need to be cooked?

    Little free range time but do have a covered run that is 25 by 35ft that they always have access to since I leave the pop door open all the time. Unless it's really cold really cold being below -10 so they are out of the coop for most of daylight hours

    Just noticed this morning. I have 11 birds about 10 months old. No roos. She is the only one to be missing these feathers. I've been watching her and she is eating drinking and pooping fine. The other ladies do not seem to peck at her. Possibly molting? But think she may be to young for that...
