I think the all hatched on time, I wasn't counting as they were originally with their mother, but then their mother decided to abandon them which was when I put them in the incubator.
I have an egg in my incubator that hasn't hatched yet, the rest of my eggs hatched 2 days ago. So I'm wondering if this one will hatch. I have tried candling it, but the torch isn't bright enough or shell is to thick it just doesn't seem to allow the light in. I am yet to see if it sinks or...
At the moment I just have seed I feed my finches. The mother Quail decided to abandon them, so I wasn't ready to take them in. Would you start feeding them straight away or?
Thanks for the help :)
I have a couple baby Button quails, one is 1 day old the other is 2 days old. I am trying to teach them to eat seed by putting some seed on tin foil and tapping it with my finger. But they're not interested. I'm also trying to get them to drink by dipping their beaks in some water, which seems...
Yes it was and the veins seem to be dried up, there was some blood coming from the membrane only a little, but other than that it seems all good. Will update if something goes wrong. Thanks again everyone! :jumpy
I stepped in, and just carefully and slowly removed some of the egg shell, and using a torch to see I even more carefully remove some of the membrane, I was able to lift the head out and the chick then pushed, wiggled around and came out of the egg. He's sitting warm in the incubator to dry...
HELP! Okay, so he pipped about 2 hours ago, I just had a look and his membrane is a grey/brown colour and looks dry and has a "shrink wrap" effect like you were talking about, what do I do?
Yes, she just decided to abandon her eggs after two of them hatched, so I had 3 in my incubator one of them was half way through hatching it hatched yesterday, now I have 2 one that I think is a dud and the other is the one I can hear chirping and what not.
So before she abandoned them she had...
I have 3 Quail eggs in my incubator, one of the eggs hatched yesterday and the chick is doing fine, the second egg isn't making any noise and I think it was a dud from the start, however the third noise has been making tapping and scratching sounds even the occasional chrip since the day before...
Here is a link to my previous post which explains everything.

Need HELP ASAP
My female Quail decided to abandon her 2 eggs after her other 2 hatched, luckily I happen to have a incubator as I was wanting to hatch my own quails.
Well, one of the quails hatched (very cute) and I have left it in the incubator to keep it warm and wait for it to be big enough...
I woke up to find one of my finches bleeding on the bottom of the aviary and still alive, checked the security cameras and it's looks like a cat got him. His whole leg is just being held on by a piece of skin. The bleeding has stopped, but I don't know what I am going to do about his leg.
Sorry...
Thanks, I'm hoping they hatch, too, there is 8 eggs, she's been gathering leaves today, I don't know if that's for the nest or if she's just looking for bugs.
Okay thank you, and if the chance of them hatching and she doesn't care for them does happen, how would I do care for them? Do I need to make a mix up and feed them by a spoon or a syringe, like you do with budgies?
Hey, so a couple days ago I got a new female quail, and she has laid some eggs, I believe they are fertile because my male quail is known for breeding. She, unlike my last quail will sit on her eggs. She has been sitting on them all day and I was wondering how long it would take for them to...
