Test hatch is complete. Bought some Ameracauna eggs off ebay, 14 eggs total. 7 hatched and lived, 2 died after pipping. So far best result for buying eggs online. We also put 4 of our orpington eggs in the bator to see if our young rooster is doing is job. 100% success. All 4 hatched...
Trying to gather info On why this chick keeps rolling on its back. The other chicks were pecking it and sitting on it. Its pretty lethargic right now. We placed it in a cup in the incubator hoping it will perk up and to keep from getting more beat up. Ive just never seen this. Any info...
Im doing a test hatch before the HAL right now . And so far the easter eggers that have started to pip are all pipping on the small end of the egg. Could this be a genetic disorder. So far its just 2 out of 14 eggs.
He does calm down when I pick him up. Its mainly when I have my back to him when he strikes. Ill have to pay more attention to him i guess. Maybe thats all hes asking for.
Im having that same issue with my young buff Orpington. Hes real big and pretty but getting to aggressive. Anybody know of a way to stop this? Id hate to put him down cause he attacks a child.

They were advertised as ameraucanas that lay blue eggs. But im pretty sure they are easter eggers, eggs showed up more green than blue. Its no big to me though.
I recently bought some eggs on ebay to make sure my equipment works and to show kids what its like to incubate eggs. when they arrived each egg was completely bubble wrapped and taped up. My question is, is this ok? Do they need air? They were shipped on monday morning and received on...
Yes, we have two incubators. Both homemade, I've had better success with them then store bought. I can fit 25-30 chicken eggs in each. Just have to manually turn the eggs is all.
I'll join, kids with love this. Our new flock is pretty young, last year's chicks, so hopefully they will start laying soon. And our young rooster can do his part. Plus side though one hen did start laying this week, got two eggs so far.
