Post Your Game Cam Pics Here!!!

Last time I tried to download pictures, there were none on the SD card, but there should have been because I myself crossed in front of it several times. So, I cleaned the contacts and put it back. Today, I went out to the camera, put the SD card in the pocket of my sweatpants and promptly forgot about it....until I was getting the clothes out of the washer. Thankfully, I didn't put it in the dryer! So, waiting for it to dry out completely to see if it's ruined. Sigh. It's been one of those days. I did hear the coyote pack in the neighborhood again this past week. If I ruined the SD card, will have to get another one, I guess.

ETA: It's okay! On the other hand, see what is on it? Grrrrr. I can't tell for sure if that's one of the same dogs as before-the tail is the same, but the pic is not good enough to see.

And this guy.

do you know whos dog that is? I had to go tell the people one time about there dog getting out and coming over to our coop every night.
that seemed to work , I have not seen the dog over here since.

I have zero idea what dog belongs to who around here. We live in a mountain area, can't really see most houses except glimpses through trees except on main roads. Everyone lets their dogs roam, it seems to me, so if I see a dog in someone's yard or pasture, I have no idea if it belongs there or is just passing across. Dogs here don't "get out". They are always out. So, I consider every dog a stray dog now. If you recall, my husband shot at two dogs who had been coming here for a period of time and finally breached the perimeter fence, I think hit one though probably just stung him at the distance he was shooting from (bird shot). They have not been back since, or had not been back if this is the brindle one.
These dogs were the ones.

sunday evening i went home from work and checked my coop, only 8.. my black australorp Apple was missing.. i shut up the coop and with a flash light,, hunted my woods for any sign of her.. looking into trees.. after 2 hours, i came in, checked the deer cam.. all i found was this dog.. it was early in the day, it looked to run around for half an hour.. never seen it before, we live in the country with few neighbours..

i check back outside at midnight.. no Apple.. i managed to sleep a few hours and at first light of morning, i went out scouring the woods again.. this time i found many piles of black feathers.. i was heart broken.. around the feathers were many fox tracks and large dog tracks.. no sign of Apple, i figured she got eaten..

later that day, i check my coop and i see Apple, standing in there without her tail.. she lived thru the attack, she lived all night out in the below freezing temperatures, and she made her way home..
i don't think it was a fox that got her.. it would have killed her.. her skin wasn't broken, just swollen from all the feather plucking.. i am thinking that this large dog, was trying to play her to death.. like a cat with a mouse.. cuz it looks like she got away many times by all the feather piles..

i am so angry that "someones pet" got loose and attacked one of my babies.. i don't know how to protect them from this.. all my girls act scared now.. clinging to the porch during the day.. hmm

ok
im done venting..

I agree with aart, could be the same dog. looking at the second picture the way the tail looks, ( curled up ) both pictures show that curl. the picture that went through the wash is a lil bit hard to see, cant really tell if the white on the dogs chest is the same.

Glad the card survived the wash!
Could be same dog with winter coat?
Yes, it could, Anne.

I'm not sure, either, but it could have a winter coat.

this is a close up of the tail when it was inside the fence.
