Marshal Grain is a good pkace for chicks. Just be sure they are sexed, a neighbor bought 11 from a private breeder (not sexed) and all but 3 were roosters. Americanas (sp?) are a good breed, they lay bluish eggs, very friendly too.

Ren2014, same thing happened to my neighbor but 11 out of 15 were roosters. They were new to chickens (hubby actually surprised her) but I have clued them in on my chicken guy at the feed store.

Don't think I could bring myself to eatting the roosters, or knowingly give them to someone that planned to.

I do the sane sorting, try to make sure every carton gets two of the bluegreen eggs. Thanks for all the breed names, will ck them out.
