    ooh! i have a meyer welsummer x (something). she's got a black head and no crest (or muffs). i'm confused by her, though i think she's pretty. i'm actually down for a guessing game as to what she's mixed with because i can't figure out how on earth a legbar has a black head. def not a marans...

    i'll just pin my hopes on your thought that his comb is smaller than it should be for a cockerel! there's still hope. and i'd say his bossy behavior has lessened a good bit, though i did see him jump out and protect a couple others from my hen, who's not their mother but doesn't mind hanging...
