Here's a short clip. Sorry I missed most of it in the video, he ran out of the coop and I never got another chance - I think he'll only crow inside the coop at this age (and let's hope it stays that way!!). Kinda cute.
At 7-1/2 weeks old this morning, I thought my and ears was playing tricks on me - I found the dude crowing in the coop, I'm blown away. Little guy crowing at the break of dawn. Will post the action if anyone is interested. :D
Well, after six weeks I'm convinced it is a cockerel. None of the others even come close to looking like this dude. And just to show how the others look like, here's a pic of one of the others...

Well... I bought four dozen newly hatched chicks 30 days ago in what is supposed to be all pullets.
This one strikes me as odd from the rest of the herd.
None of the 49 others is showing any wattles or comb like this one.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I keep hearing that chicken wire is "not predator proof" - but under the circumstance I mentioned (daytime) will it deter/defend well with regard to the predators I mentioned (raccoon, possum, cats) ? I mean... has there been instances of the chicken wire being defeated...
