    Extremely late coturnix quail hatch

I didn't, only because it is a brand new digital incubator. It has a fan, so shouldn't have cold spots either. I heard low temperature can delay the hatch, but eggs still moving and progressing on day 23 sounds crazy.

    Extremely late coturnix quail hatch

I am incubating 56 quail eggs at 99.5%. 1 was born on day 18. 4 were born on day 19. 1 was born on day 20. One more was born today but died. Today is day 23. I opened up the incubator to call it quits. I gently rolled all the eggs around. One is now cut most the way around. It and a few...

Good thread with good information. I started day 18 four hours ago, and nothing yet. Calmed my nerves a bit. I incubated a few hundred Bob Whites 20 years ago, but this is my first coturnix batch- which I paid for...lol

    new Zealand rabbit genetic question

Thank you for the response. Another issue on my mind is the discoloration on the bottom of the feet and rump on the whites from the urine from the wire on the cage. Topic of the Week - Incubating eggs

My incubator is a forced air, and has 2 outside channels. The fan and wires almost sit on the floor in the middle, so I cannot just add water in the middle. I did add 3 additional cups in the middle where I could squeeze them in to increase the surface area, but still cannot get above 65%.

Topic of the Week - Incubating eggs

Just bought a new incubator. Test run was great with humidity around 50-55%. Doing mock lock down now, and I cannot get the humidity above 65% with 3 additional cups under the chicken floor. Dome has lots of moisture on it. Any tips, or should I be okay? Quail eggs will arrive in 2 weeks to...

    quail incubation humidity

Putting water into mine always initially raises the humidity up to around d 70%, but it stabilizes back to my goal of 50%-55% within a few hours. I try to go 75%+ during lock down.
