    Breeding Behavior

Thank you! I read they would lay year around so I thought I was doing something wrong. I will def watch my ratio I think my Calls are 6 hens and 3 drakes but only my 1 adult has a drake feather. I’m building a new run for the khakis. I’m new to all of this. Someone gave me my adult hens and I...

Also the two adult khaki hens and my two adult call hens have all stopped laying completely. Any ideas? They are getting plenty of feed, access to calcium and I provide forage.

    Breeding Behavior

Only one of the drakes was supposed to be male which would have made my ratio at least workable. I've got no idea how many Calls are drakes yet. I will separate them as soon as I get my new run finished. Will he actually drown her? I may have to put them in a crate.

    Breeding Behavior

I have 4 Khaki Campbell ducks; 2 drakes about 3 months old, the females are full grown. I also have 10 Call ducks in the same run of similar age to the drakes. Yesterday I found one of my Khaki drakes trying to mate with one of my Call ducks in the 40 gallon horse trough they use for bathing...

Before you incubate again I think I'd invest in cheap candler from amazon...I think I paid $12 for mine and it's been worth every penny! I have several batches of chicks and even one duck (accident) and 2 turkeys from my incubator. On another note...this is my first time successfully...

    Help Call Duck people...

To complicate it even more these two ducks lived in completely separate places grown one in the run and the duckling was in a brooder. That's why I was thinking call ducks might need something nutritionally that I was not giving them. She's isolated now so I will let you know about poop.

    Help Call Duck people...

I've isolated her so I can keep her here at the house. She ordinarily lives in a mixed flock with chickens and turkeys (a breeding pair). They have an old shed for a coop where they lay and go in at night. During the day they have a large fenced run. I have 2 females and a drake and I was...

I had a duckling just 3 weeks old I had to have put down for neurological symptoms (seizures, fell over upside down and could right itself, couldn't stand, etc). I took her, Flip, to the vet and they said she had no pupillary response and we had her put down. We took her to University of...

Young duckling with a severely injured infectwd foot. Please help!

Can you give Tylenol 50 to ducks? My duckling came from store with a leg that didn’t work right. My hens beat her up pretty bad and I couldn’t find her for 24 hours. She now seems to have a respiratory infection. The mean hens have been rehomed.

Turkeys 101 - New To Turkeys (What Do I Need To Know?)

hmm...she roosts in the coop. has several tunnel structures (1 large plastic covered and 2 smaller wooden triangles) outside plus a large dog kennel with door removed lined with straw inside the coop. Is this sufficient?

Turkeys 101 - New To Turkeys (What Do I Need To Know?)

Where do turkeys lay their eggs? My immature hen (bourbon red) is dropping eggs everywhere. She has twice dropped them from perch 20’ up in tree and 3 times in poop hammock. Do I need to add something she isn’t finding as appropriate nesting spot?
