Thanks for advice. Yes she did streatch her legs out. The food is outside and they go in at night so they do not have food 24/7 but they did when they were smaller. Then I still turned the lights out but I think she probably still ate at night.
I thought is was unfair on her so I processed...
I am new to meat birds. I got 3 fast growers & 1 slow. They are 6 weeks and have all grown at an unbelivable rate compared to my layers, but one of the fast growers has often been laying on her side, often still at the food trough!
She now seams to have more trouble to stand. She gets up &...
Humm, wandering could be an issue.
How long did it take to teach them?
On one side of our property a river stops my chickens getting out. I just don't think that is going to work with ducks! I guess they will get to know the horses opposite! The other side is a fence before a lake. I think...
4 Weeks to wait
6 Loman Brown chicks (hybrids same as I always get that have always been really friendly & superb layers) and 3 Khaki Cambell chicks ordered! The guy I get them from is really helpfull & will put them in the incubator for me tomorrow. He can sex the ducks as day old so I don't...
And I assume they don't have problem mixing again?

Maybe I will put a brooder inside with both in...
BellLisamo do you brood your ducklings & chicks together then put the ducklings out early, followed by the chicks later?
I put my chicks out at 5 weeks with a heat lamp in the coop. The coop is big with a window so they start to get used to the old girls then a few weeks later I cut a small flap...
Hi I have kept chickens for 7 years now but never kept ducks. I am getting more chicks (I buy them as day olds) and had often thought about getting ducks so have a few questions.
I have water everywhere (about 4 acres) so I am assuming I can just let them out to free range with my chickens. I...
Hi,
I am new to the forum but not chickens.
I agree with the people who say do not relocate. Not only does it make it someone else's problem but there is a fair chance you will move it into another fox's territory so it will have more issue getting food, become desperate & even more likely to...
