Hi all.
We have a mini hen in our flock who I noticed was limping earlier this week. When I took her in to look at her I saw she had a big mass on her foot, which ended up being dirt and infection. We got it all cleaned up & wrapped and she's been resting. Went to re wrap and clean it today, I...
It's new. I was thinking the same thing though. That foot was always super big but I just recently noticed the growth. Is it going to need to be removed?
Hi everyone. This is my rooster, Jerry. I got him from a farm after seeing how much trouble he was having when trying to walk. He had bumblefoot & leg mites when I first got him. I took care of that and although he still had a hard time walking, it was much easier for him. The swelling of his...
Hey BYC members! I really need some advice....
Sorry if this gets confusing lol.
Okay so, about a week ago i realized that 1 of my 2 chicks was a rooster, I went to my nearby poultry store to exchange as where i live i cannot have roosters. When i got there, the store only had day old chicks...
She is definitely drinking. She is with one other chick who also has a stuffy nose. I just ordered some medicine off Valley Vet. They both seem to be doing better... I ordered VetRX and Nutri-Drench. They are both themselves, one just has diarrhea and they both have runny noses.
Help! My 10 week old polish was having some trouble breathing, I looked at her nose and it was clogged with this dried yellow yolky stuff. Also i noticed her eyes were watery and bubbly. She seems a bit wobbly too. Any suggestions?
Thank you everyone! The chickens that are living outside already are almost a year old. One of the new chicks is 7 weeks, the other is 2 months. For the past few days i have been bringing the new chicks out side near the older ones. For the most part, the older chickens just ignore/run away from...
Hello! I have 2 chickens who are fully feathered and ready to go outside. I am just not sure how to introduce them to my existing flock who are about a year old. Any tips/help would be lovely!! Thank you!
When I first put my chicks out I put a heat lamp in their coop for a week. Mine were 6 weeks. Yours should be fine even without a heat lamp though. If your a little worried that they may be cold just sick a heat lamp in their coop. They should be fine without it though. Best of Luck!!
If you think it might be mites I would try some diatomaceous earth. (food grade) You can sprinkle some in the coop, put some under your chickens wings and just on there body in general, also you should mix it into their food. That should get rid of any bugs there may be. Hope this helps!
