ISO Serama pullet chicks near Dallas

Hi! I'm looking for Serama pullet chicks around the Dallas area. Serama bantam or frizzle are fine too. Preferably splash or buff colors, not really black. I have a very colorful flock so hoping to continue the trend. My town doesn't allow Roos so I'd prefer no pairs, but if I have to I can...

    Coop Cleaning

This is a little embarassing to ask, but I'm a new chicken farmer! I'm ready to do a thorough coop cleaning, but not quite sure what all it should entail. As I understand lots of people really get in there and scrub and wash every crevice. I'm curious about the best method to "wash" my wooden...

Pullets sleeping on floor of coop

I have three 3 month old pullets. They try to sleep in their nesting boxes so I covered them, but they are still sleeping on the floor of the coop and not roosting. I try to place them up there but they always end up on the floor huddled by the door. What can I do?

Could my chickens or the pests that come with them making me sick?

In the past month I've seen about 8 doctors and been on antibiotics 3 times. I literally just left the doctor with another presciption. Definitely not saying the chickens or critters associated are related but this is about the only route I haven't explored

Could my chickens or the pests that come with them making me sick?

Hi all! I really have enjoyed starting my flock in April. They are such fun creatures. This may not be the place to ask, but it seems the best place to start. Unfortunately I have been sick nearly the whole time I've had them. Is it possible that something from the chickens (maybe the mites or...

Ready to move chicks into coop with bigger chickens, need advice

I've got 5 seven-week old chicks that are ready to move outside and into the coop with my other 5 ten to twelve week old chicks. The size difference is quite considerable. They've been introduced out in the yard, but hang out in their separate flocks. It's time to move the smaller chicks...

    Mealworm farming

So I just started a mealworm farm for my chickens, but I accidentally bought Superworms. I read somewhere that they are sterile. My chicks are only about 4 weeks old though and I've read that the chickens can't eat the big worms. I'm not sure how accurate my info is, or if maybe it'd be easier...

    New Chicken Mama here!

Hi All! Thanks for letting me (and my family and flock) be a part of the community! We got our first 3 chicks about 4 weeks ago. The addiction set in FAST and we quickly got 2 more! I plan to get 2-3 more by the end of this season and maybe a couple more next year. I'm trying to have a...
