UPDATE:
1 Austrolorp laying for 2 weeks now. Started @ 26 weeks old.
1 Easter Egger started 3 days ago. She's 25 weeks old.
My Austrolorp gave me eggs consistently 4 days on, 2 off, and now NO EGGS from her for 5 days. Maybe beginning to molt, weather changes...I don't know but she's...
As of today I have one that's been laying for a week. A Black Austrolorp, 26 wks old. I have another that same age not laying yet.
There are also 2 Easter Eggers, 24 wks old not laying yet.
As of today they are now 23/26 weeks old. Still no eggs but much more vocal and 2 are doing the egg squat. Can't help thinking the "A watched pot never boils" LOL
I just bought a 30lb bag of Sunflower Seeds and mine won't touch them. I'll try breaking a few to see if they decide they like them. But, I'm suspect that I'll be looking for a place to unload a whole lot of seed.
Thank you for you input. Most appreciated. I do have one that is beginning to squat so I'm hoping maybe a week at most. Several times a day I go to visit and just tell myself: No eggs......A watched pot never boils. LOL
Please post the age & breed when your pullets/hens began laying eggs.
I'm still waiting............
2 Black Austrolorps - 24 weeks old (No Eggs)
2 Easter Eggers - 21 weeks (No Eggs)
I'm interested in the electric poultry netting for expanding my safe zone ranging abilities. I have a livestock high tensile fence next to the coop that's already grounded and highly functional. Any reason I can't just hook up to that for my power source?
KY is under a ban for Swap Meets and Trade Shows as there is an outbreak in Western KY.
I don't have my birds as yet but am hoping to find some for my small backyard coop today. Holding my breath that I get healthy pullets and they stay that way. I found a couple I'd love to have in...
