None of the above are issues. We fully clean out our coop every 6 weeks. I’m stumped and wondering if it’s a virus. Bc now the babies (1 week old) are sneezing.🤧
Good evening. Our flock has several birds that are sneezing. And we just hatched some babies last week and I have heard a couple sneeze. I am assuming the birds have some sort of a virus. Everyone seems fine. Eating well, defecating. Drinking water. The only thing I’m noticing is sneezing. Any...
Thank you. I changed out the red light to a ceramic light and put probiotics and drench in the water. It’s doing better over the last hour. Not 100% but definitely better. Most recent stool is more formed.
Good afternoon backyard chicken friends! I need your help please. We hatched a baby Gossling and one of the female geese was acting aggressive toward it, so we’ve brought it inside to care for it. It was doing fantastic the first five days. As of early this morning, it slowed down a bit and it’s...
I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. It broke my heart. I had worked on her for a solid 3-4 weeks. I do tend to agree with you. We had been battling it for a solid month. She had made leaps and bounds in improvements. About 3 weeks ago I thought she wasn't going to make it...
Good morning backyard chicken friends! I wanted to share with you that our Duchess is significantly better this morning! She went a week without eating or drinking on her own. I was feeding her electrolytes and food through a dropper. She was gurgling and sometimes open mouth breathing. I...
I did read it. Yes, thank you. 😊
I do think that’s quite possible. But I’m still not 100%. I just don’t want to make her sicker in treating for the wrong thing.
I don’t have any on hand.
She’s still making that sound but now getting up and moving more. We opened the cage door and she’ll walk out and walk around. She even pecked at the ground when we let her out with the flock for a bit yesterday. But she is not eating on her own. I am continuing to...
They will clear up on their own when they aspirate? Doesn’t aspiration from vomit typically cause pneumonia/infection?
Does the rattling sound like aspiration? Or something else?
Thank you for continuing to try to help! 😊 She’s continuing to make the gurgling sound. We are feeding her critical care by ox bow to sustain her bc she’s not eating on her own. She will walk around slowly when we let her out of the cage, and even hold her tail up. But when we put her back in...
I’d love a treatment plan. As soon as I can get a video, I’ll post and y’all can chime in with feedback. I feel so bad for her. She doesn’t want to eat now and I’m sure it’s bc it’s hard for her to breathe 😔
I’d be happy to! I’m not home right now, but I could have one of my kids take a video of her. She did vomit, and that’s when the rattling started, so that’s what leads me to believe that she aspirated.
