Gender for Four Silver Laced Polish at 10 weeks old

Thanks! I tried add lots of pictures but sometimes those four confuse me too! As you could tell by the names, I guessed those two might be guys. Peg doesn’t have the same beak features as the guys but definitely isn’t as obviously female as Polly.

Gender for Four Silver Laced Polish at 10 weeks old

I think two are Cockerels and two are Pullets, but I wanted a more expert opinion before I passed on my Cockerels to the farm. The reason for my suspicion is that two have wattles. But I'm uncertain because the headfeathers only look like a guy on one of them, but only one really acts like a...

What gender? 9 week olds and some 6 week olds

Oh yeah! Your chicken looks very similar to mine. Thank you!

What gender? 9 week olds and some 6 week olds

Great. I’m just going to keep assuming my Silkie is a little lady until further developments. As for my GLW, here are some updated pictures. She has the body of a hen, but a very red face. Also now 13 weeks.

Two OEs at 10 weeks old

Thanks! I got them from a farmer outside Kansas City. He does chick days in the spring and fall. This is great news!

Here is an updated picture of the Silkie, now 13 weeks. Has those tail feathers but definitely no wattles.

Two OEs at 10 weeks old

I think one is a boy and one a girl, but their faces look the same! Thoughts?

What gender? 9 week olds and some 6 week olds

That was my guess as well for those 3, based on what I read and on their behavior.

What gender? 9 week olds and some 6 week olds

I got this straight run of chicks and hope they are old enough to sex now. I know my Buff Orpington is a cockerel, but unsure about the rest. Thank you for your help!! Wilma the Welsummer (or maybe Olive Egger) 9 weeks Stella the Silkie, 9 wks Maria the Americauna, 9 wks...

Is this Coop okay for Winter?

I'm glad I asked. I can easily make some hinged window flaps (wooden). I am new to chicken owning so I searched for coop plans. Several places recommended the plans for this coop, so I followed it exactly. I actually added the other roosting poles because I didn't like the only one being by...

Is this Coop okay for Winter?

The two windows are facing east and west.

Is this Coop okay for Winter?

I have two windows on each side that are right next to a popular roosting pole (there are three inside). I worry about my chickens getting too cold at night. Should I cover one or both windows up or leave them open for ventilation. I'm trying out the deep litter method, if that makes a...

Which breed: Cream Legbar or Olive Egger

I received two chicks, one cream legbar and one olive egger (supposedly), but I don't know which is which. Can you help me out?

    Pulley or cockerel:the constant question

I got a few four/five week old chicks and am not sure this one is a lady like the rest. Thoughts?

I think I'm in denial... please tell me these are both pullets!

Thank you! My elderly neighbor (who had chickens when he was younger) told me it was a rooster... so I began to get scared.

I think I'm in denial... please tell me these are both pullets!

I have hope again. But I will take a couple better pictures tomorrow and post to be certain. Thank you!

I think I'm in denial... please tell me these are both pullets!

I'm a first time chicken owner, and I got these two as chicks. One has pretty much always been bigger than the other, and I thought it must be the same way some people are different sized than others. However, I know fear that Buckbeak is a cockerel!! She (he?!) hasn't crowed yet, but s/he is...

I lived in Mt. Juliet, TN as a kid! Chicken math meaning.... it's very easy to end up getting more and more? :D

    New from KC

I got my first four chicks in April and just got a few more. I am in love with them! The two white Wyandottes were taken by raccoons while I was on vacation and my brother was house sitting. But my two survivors are four month old black Australorps (Pigwidgeon and Buckbeak). My new chicks are...
