I bought 4 chicks from a farm supply store six weeks ago, 2 jerseyJersey Giants , 1 Production Red and 1 Barnevelder. I’m thinking Autumn (my Barnevelder) isn’t really an Ameraucana. What do you think? I see muffs and the coloring is off for a Barnevelder.
Thanks! Yes I’m sure it’s because my stalker is low on the pecking order. I’ve been letting all the silkies loose in the pen all day for a week now. I’m hoping my naughty chicken gets tired of the game soon. I feel so badly for the little ones.
i have five 11 wk old Silkies I’m trying to integrate with my full sized gals. They’ve been kept in a dog crate inside the chicken and duck pen for weeks now. One chicken has been stalking and pecking them when I let them out in the pen. I’m having trouble moving them to the main chx house...
These are all great names! My chicken coop is called Hunt’s Happy Hen House (my last name being Hunt). I built a dust bath station out of four painted tires and called it Tranquillity Dust Day Spa. We’re about to get three ducklings and I was trying to come up with a name. Maybe Dancing Duck...
I have a mixed flock of five chickens. All began laying between 24 and 30 weeks, but my Welsummer just laid her first at 43!!! We live in Massachusetts so weather I’m sure had something to do with it. She looked healthy and energetic so I wasn’t worried. I figured when she was ready it would...
Noooo. I don't know. My last black sex link looks exactly like this one. Unless she too isn't a black sex link. What do you think this is? This is the other one about two weeks ago, around 17 weeks old
I'm a little disappointed because I wanted a black australorp, but I love my other Black SexLink and good news! With a sex link I know for sure she'll be a hen.
Thank you. I stared wondering that too.... I went back to find a picture of Lola-Belle, my 17 week old sex link and I think you're right. They could be twins. This, was Lola when she was a little chick... and her now...
We bought Kiki thinking she was a black australorp. At around 4 weeks old, her feathers are starting to come in brown? Is it still possible she's an australorp or do you think she's something else?
Thank you. I see a lot of brown, but a lot of gray too. And I love her silver legs. Either way, Americauna or Easter Eggers I love her. She's a sweet chicken. Although to be honest I haven't met a chicken I didn't like.
My granddaughter and I are raising three baby chicks. Lexie is an americauna but we don't know how old she is or what type of Americauna. I'm guessing 3 or 4 weeks old? Does anyone have a guess to age or type she'll be?
It's been awhile since I posted.... Miss Daisy is now around 17 weeks old and is definitely a hen. Yeah! She blessed us with our first egg last Tuesday.

I'm a newbie with a little flock of six baby chickens, all different breeds. One little lady, our sweet Miss Daisy, is making me wonder if she's due for a name change. She's 6 weeks old. I know we can't be sure for several weeks yet. .. but am wondering what more...
