Hi all! Getting ready to try to reintroduce the duck to her flock this weekend. She’s spent the last two days out free ranging around the outside of their run (and bringing her inside again at night). Any tips for the reintroduction to make sure she doesn’t get beat up again?

Thank you!! I’m so relieved. On Thursday evening I was almost in tears fretting about whether I was doing the right things. I’m going to give her another week before we start thinking about reintroducing her to the group... Fingers crossed we can get this figured out.

Not much better to be honest, which surprises me because it’s cleared up quickly in the past or shown quick improvement. I can’t help but think that the hens must have done a number on her. I feel so horrible for her - she’s miserable. Sat in my lap for about an hour tonight and just moped.

Thank you! Yes, I’ve been using Terramycin all along. It works very well to clear up the eye issue, but does very little to help with the reoccurance.

Great - thank you. That’s so helpful. We typically bed in shavings in the summer, but opted for straw this winter to help with warmth. I’ve got her secluded again so I will use this weekend to “upgrade” the coop with more duck-friendly bedding and water conditions. I really appreciate your help!!

They have laminate flooring in the coop with straw bedding. I’m just really struggling to understand why - if it’s something in the environment - the other duck isn’t having issues too. And why just the one eye. Have you heard of anything like that happening before? I guess anything is possible!
