not sure if this is the correct place to post this

Quote: This is what I'm finding so far. Ocular Histoplasmosis is a condition where scars have formed on the retina due to a fungus commonly found in the Mississippi and Ohio River Valleys. Histoplasmosis is contracted by inhaling these fungal spores from dust. Over 50% of the people living in...

not sure if this is the correct place to post this

I'll look it up and ask them when they get home- if they hear the name, they might remember. I really just thought it was a routine eye exam or I would have gone with. My Men- I've found ( don't know if other are this way) Can't seem to remember details.

How many coops and runs do you have?

3 coops 1 coop is 12 X12 w/ a 12 X 24 foot run The other 2 coops are 12 X 16 and 6X12 - The smaller of the coops is for my new chicks so although there is a door for them to go outside - they don't, at least not yet. The bigger coop holds all my layers and they are free range.

Found One Outside Outside the coop door this morning- it was a first time pullets egg...so I'm hoping she finds the nests soon. I have my 19 week pullets in with 1 year old layers so I'm hoping...

    Chicken Killing Family Dog

It sounds like you no longer trust the dog. The biggest issue is if he is a liability around children. An aggressive dog can hurt a child very quickly. If it were me the first sign of aggression and the dog is gone. BUT, you do have to keep things in perspective. I think on the proverbial food...

Does Blue-Kote actually work for PECKING?

I have not had any luck with Blu-Kote for elimanating pecking. But What Springchickens says seems to make sense and now that I think about it maybe that is why it never worked for me. Personally-I've had such an issue w/cannibalism in the past that if I could isolate it to just one bird - I...

thoughts on these breeds for children?

I don't know about the Easter Eggers. We have 24 of them and they are so flighty and wild. They are the only birds I have my 3 year old and 8 year old can't pick up, because they just run crazy like whenever we go in the coop. The Easter Eggers are really a mutt- so you never know really what...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: Think three rows of little red peas.... sort of.... Of course, finding a good representation of a pea comb can be difficult. Blue legs huh? How cool is that?! Okay- i found a picture of a pea comb. I have 24 pullets and 4 Roos for sure. Out of the pullets- they all have blue/green...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote: When you say combs, do you mean a different kind of comb from the others, like a single comb as opposed to a pea comb? Or just that they are more pronounced? Easter Eggers can have any kind of comb - one of the benefits of being an easter egger I guess. If they all have the same type...
