I think Deathlayers are beautiful birds. But have been the hardest to raise for me and lost all 6 by 2 weeks of age, no matter what I did. I had the golden ones. Both colors are just beautiful.. I followed the instructions they gave me with the chicks, but to no avail. kind of an expensive...
Yes they will keep returning. as long as you let them.. I have already had a 4ft black snake in the nest. eating eggs. but it ate my fake egg. so that may not bear too well. At least it was in the nest without a hen on it so I could see it instead of sticking my hand under the hen to get eggs...
That's interesting. these have also been on medicated feed. They eat and drink. 5th died today. there was some green stool today on the papers. no green stools before. 1 left with a little EE chick. so far he is doing better than all of them. Glad to hear yours have done well. congrats on...

Don't know how much is average on a BCM, but that is one reason I thought I would breed to my EE's and also got a few purebred BCM. Well, It has been a crazy year because my first to pullets went broody before a year old. they will be 2 june 27, and I have already had to break them both again...
I hear my chickens most all day long, they are quiet at night, so no one should complain. If your are real anxious over her noise, it is not good on you, so if you have a good home, rehome her. It will relieve your stress, but it is good for her to go with another one so she isn't the lone girl...
