I have Tiggs, 12, who I adopted as a kitten when I lived in the middle of the Mojave Desert. He loves to find sunny patches to “recharge”, and then spends every other moment cuddling with his humans. He has met my ducks, but ignores them. He’d rather just eat grass and chase chipmunks.
Next up is Leo, 6, who I took care of from birth at my job at a shelter. I adopted him as I couldn’t bear to let him go. He has “orphan kitten syndrome”, although he wasn’t technically an orphan (long story). In other words, he’s a brat. He’s currently on the “disabled list” as he either stepped on a thorn or got chomped between the toes by one of the rodents he hunted. Now he has an abscess, and is stoned on pain meds, but not stoned enough to make treating his paw or medicating him easy. He’s also asthmatic and has a chronic URI. He also ignores the ducks, but he’s barely bigger than them.
Last up is Sammie, 7. I adopted her almost 2 and a half years ago after my soul kitty passed away. Sammie was almost 20 lbs then. Now, she’s 15.35 lbs. Sammie really really really likes food. The ducks took an offensive stance when they first saw her as they didn’t want to become food. She was sleeping in the grass when one snuck up and pecked her on the nose. Now, everyone ignores each other.
