Thank you for the advice, I will have to try that and see if it helps. I'm assuming I should probably be giving those extra vitamins to my adult ducks as well then? They are on an All Flock pellet as well as foraging in my yard during the day. I'm not sure how well formulated the All Flock...
I really hope that's not what is going on. She does it a lot, like every few minutes. If she was having that many seizures I imagine that would be very unhealthy.:(
We hatched some ducklings on Monday and they all acted normal until one started running in circles. It also loses its balance, stumbles, and tilts its neck in weird ways. It acts normal otherwise and seems healthy. Just wondering if anyone knows what it might be and if there's anything we can or...
Thank you! I will try treating for sour crop then.
Yes, pretty much just a liquid diet. I have dry and moistened crumbles always available as well. She likes to peck at that, but doesn't get much from it.
Thank you for your response!
I am currently feeding her Kaytee Exact Hand Feeding Formula. That is what was recommended to me by the vet. I don't know her age for sure, but I am guessing around 5 weeks. She is small and very thin, but the amount of feathers that she has makes me think she is at...
A couple of weeks ago when I was at the feed store I noticed a chick by itself in one of the brooders. I took a closer look and realized it had scissor beak. I asked an employee about it and was told that she was free, and that she wouldn't be much harder to care for than a regular chicken. They...

Age: 2 years
Breed: Golden 300 Hybrid Layer X Jumbo Pekin
Gender: Female
Piper is special to me because she is the only baby from my Jumbo Pekin drake, Aflac. Aflac was the sweetest boy, but he unfortunately had to be put to sleep when he was only a year old. I am now very attached...
Here's my Golden 300 Layer. They do have some similarities to a Rouen or Mallard, but I believe that the bar on their wings is usually black instead of blue.
Also, Rouens and Mallards look like this as ducklings:
And this is a Golden 300 Layer duckling:
Yes, it pipped on Monday. A few hours after posting last night it still hadn't made progress, so I did end up helping it. Just like the other one I carefully removed shell and outer membrane and checked the inner membrane for any blood vessels. I didn't see any so I peeled back the inner...
For several hours now, duckling number two has been enlarging his pip hole. He doesn't seem to be making much progress anymore. Sometimes he starts peeping like crazy and trying to squeeze himself through the hole. Should I help yet or give him more time?
