I pulled back the inner membrane like you said and then put him back in the incubator. A minute later he was completely out of the egg. No yolk left to absorb.

For several hours now, duckling number two has been enlarging his pip hole. He doesn't seem to be making much progress anymore. Sometimes he starts peeping like crazy and trying to squeeze himself through the hole. Should I help yet or give him more time?
This is the one that originally pipped Monday afternoon?
Good Job!!Just like the other one I carefully removed shell and outer membrane and checked the inner membrane for any blood vessels. I didn't see any so I peeled back the inner membrane and put him in the incubator to come out on his own.
Yes, it pipped on Monday. A few hours after posting last night it still hadn't made progress, so I did end up helping it. Just like the other one I carefully removed shell and outer membrane and checked the inner membrane for any blood vessels. I didn't see any so I peeled back the inner membrane and put him in the incubator to come out on his own. It took him about ten minutes to get out. He seems to be doing well this morning.
