Floor Plan Front...
Thanks guys! I didnt really like the look of the roo I just didn't know if anybody knew more about them. It seems like there are not a whole lot of SF breeders around so I didn't know if somebody around here had posted them or knew who posted them. So on a different note......If you um...

This is my first year with chickens and a while back I accidently put 2 wellsummers with my 5 speckled sussex. I figured out that the speckled sussex have white on their wing (I think its the primary feathers) You have to spread the wing apart to see it and they also have a more white cheast...
Oh I love them all! This is my first breeding experience... It was supposed to be a Salmon Faverolles but I apparently got the eggs mixed up with something else so I think it is a Speckled Sussex/Salmon fav cross. I know that the roo is a sal fav and the other breeds of hens that I have are Buff...

Ok guys I am starting to learn more (thanks Cloverleaf!) I looked over my two pullets and 1 has 7 points on her little comb and the other has 5. Are the girls supposed to have 5 like the boys? Now other question, should I breed the one with 7 or just get rid of her? The one with 7 is darker...
Very pretty girl! With a little TLC she will be back to a healthy sheen in no time! I would definitely look into a Pit rescue if you can't keep her. IMO shelters are a very scary place for a dog especially a pit. I adopted my little angel "Emmy Lou" from our shelter. She is a pit/boxer cross...

Black in the beards is not good for a show bird. In my opinion, these two pullets, when bred, should give you cockerels with better beards. Toes look great. What do the cockerels look like.
Dick
Thanks for the info! I had a feeling the black was no good... I don't know...
Hello BYCers! I am new to chickens and purchased some Salmon Favs from Cackle hatchery (I bought them before learning that I needed to buy from breeders) Anyways since I am new I don't know exactly how or what they are supposed to look like, ideal toe spacing, color, type ect... If anybody could...
I got my first batch of babies from my feed store. 6 bantams from the assorted bantam bin. One of the silkies died within 2 days with no pasty butt. It was just lethargic and overall droopy. None of the other chicks had any symptoms of being sick. When they were about 3 weeks old I switched them...
