    Virgin Mary chicken?

Honestly, I would say for the time being you could assume your other chicken is a rooster. Not that it definetly is, but at the moment, if it's really fertile, there's surely no other way. ..right?

    Winter Molt??

I know! Warrior could have supplied a pillow factory with all that mess!

    Winter Molt??

My indoor duck, Warrior, just molted like that a week or so ago. SO. MANY. FEATHERS. Her flight feathers fell out and now her wings look sooo tiny! I know they're supposed to lose their flight feathers right now but like you I'm confused as how they stay warm enough when they lose a whole...

    Virgin Mary chicken?

How long have you had them (or did you raise them)? Any chance they'd been with a male in the past..? Or.. I don't know.. do you live in an area with stray roosters? It looks like a fertile egg to me. That's very strange. Maybe she got some ideas from the dinosaurs from "Jurassic Park" :p

    nevermind that idea

    Who Was the Culprit?

I've heard you can get those plastic hawk and owl "decoys" and place them around your coop and it might ward off any actual flying predators. I don't know if it works for sure though

Where can I order fertile duck eggs?

I've never ordered hatching eggs before, but I know Metzer has them http://www.metzerfarms.com/HatchingEggs.cfm?CustID=23062844&affiliate=undef However I can't speak on the quality.

    Gilberta’s world(indoors!)

I have an indoor duck as well! She looks pretty similar to your Gilberta. Warrior was hatched with deformed feet and is "disabled". When she hatched, she couldn't hold up her head properly for the first day, and she didn't know how to walk until much later than her clutch mates. She still trips...

    Pekin with bumblefoot

No, I actually got it from LeightonsLandingFarm on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/listing/533306929/pet-duck-diaper-adjustable-duck-diaper?ref=shop_home_feat_1&frs=1 ) they're great quality, and extremely adjustable. The diapers from Crazy K look very nice as well, though.

    Pekin with bumblefoot

She is very loved, and spoiled. Here's a pic of her sporting her diaper and neoprene shoes (she's also in my profile pic)

    Pekin with bumblefoot

I have duck who lives diapered indoors because she hatched "disabled" and walks differently. I assume she puts her weight on different parts of her feet than normal and so she wears the skin down and is extremely prone to bumblefoot. I decided to get her those neoprene shoes for ducks (from...

    My new ducks!

Could they be white layers? Or you could've had jumbo Pekins and these are normal Pekins. Either way, congrats on the duckies! :D

    Who Was the Culprit?

Sorry to double post, but perhaps a hawk? Hawks have been known to fly off with the heads of poultry since they can't carry the weight of the whole bird. Maybe it wasn't able to take the whole head but still did enough damage?

    Who Was the Culprit?

My first thought was that she could've been killed by another chicken. Any chance of that? We once had one of our drakes killed by two drake brothers who ganged up on him. It's just strange because if a predator had killed her I would've thought it wouldn't have left her so intact. I'm sorry...

Tomato plant might have been eaten?

So we found that tomato plants (stems, leaves) are toxic to ducks and geese. Our two geese (eager plant eaters) just died from what we suspect is eating tomato plants. I know that ducks tend to go for bugs rather than plants, but my little girl (Warrior the duck) was exposed to tomato plants as...

    A birthday cake for chickens!

I apologise for bumping an old thead, but does anyone know if this would be okay for ducks? My girl's birthday is tomorrow and I'd love to make her a cake.
