This thread is going to be all about our baby chicks that are due to hatch on July 4th!
I don’t know if I posted this in the right place so if I didn’t please tell me.
The eggs were taken by our broody hen on Thursday, June 13, and they are due to hatch on Thursday, July 4th.

Recently my Wyandotte chicken has had a swollen butt problem. She is about a year old and has never had any problems. Above are some pictures of her condition(she’s very shy so they are not very good quality). She has had a swollen butt for around a week or two now and has started to walk...
I have 8 hens. One of them is always getting picked on by everyone else. Every time I try to put her back in with them her neck is pecked so much it bleeds. I’m now keeping her in a separate area with one of the younger hens that was just introduced. She is let out to free range with everyone...
So i had a hen go sit on eggs in the nesting box for multiple days, concluded she was broody. Put her in a separate enclosure with some golf balls, and she won’t sit and is pacing and trying to get out. How can I help her adjust to the new space?
My firstborn baby chick cannot walk, however my secondborn can. Is there a problem? The firstborn is noticably larger than the secondborn, and the firstborn is only a few hours old, the secondborn even less. Is there a problem or is this normal? Help!
I have 4 generations of chickens, and some baby chicks on the way. None of my chickens except for one will ever let me pick them up voluntarily. And even the one that does will try to run before she stops. I handled them a lot as chicks but they still won't let me pick them up.

My broody hen, a cuckoo maron named Pajamas, just hatched her first chick out of 6 eggs! She has never hatched before but she has already successfully raised two flocks of chicks. My question is this: How old do the chicks have to be before I start handling them?
