Okay so this is my first batch of quail and I decided to get bobwhite quail which from further reading sounds like one of the more difficult varieties to hatch, Ect. Yesterday was "Hatch Day" and almost everyone piped. But 24 hours later no one has hatched yet... Is this normal? I've hatched...
Woot woot!:celebrate:woot
I'm10 out of 13 pipped in my brood... I check on them Everytime I walk by (through the window if course). The suspense. Can't wait to see what other colors you get!
Awe it thinks your it's mom! Hopefully you have another one hatch or you will have a house quail. Don't count the other ones out yet you never know. Hows your humidity in the incubator?
I'm watching Bobwhites today. Sharing in your quail excitement!:wee
I don't know what the rule is for hovabators I hatch in a homeade incubator. But I don't think they cover the wire for chickens, although quail feet are so tiny!
Lol his response sounds about right. If you can stand there it shouldn't melt it. I'm a fan of the poly electric fence (its usually black and yellow or white) it creates a visual border as well as an electric one. Hope your fencing is going well :)
