Hi everyone,
First of all I just want to say thank you so much for all your helpful tips and words. I appreciate them all very much. Unfortunately my beautiful hen died about an hour ago. I went into the kitchen for a minute and heard a noise like she has convulsed. When I went to check up on...
She is lying very still, I think she may have stopped breathing but I'm not entirely sure. When I touch her, her eyes don't open but I can see them roll a little behind her lids.
Do she has suddenly got up! I'm so confused right now, she looked like she was dead for a good 10 minutes. Should I get the amprolium along with the antibiotics??
Sometimes after rest she will randomly shake her body like she is trying to shake something off.
I hadn't started any proper treatment like antibiotics or electrolytes. I was going to this evening when my dad or brother came home so we could quickly buy it. I don't know if there's any point now? I feel terrible. Just sat here beside her, she won't even lift her head. Just opens her eyes...
She keep expelling liquid out of her mouth. At first it was just a little but currently she is resting and her head is laying low. I can see a pool of liquid on the floor near her mouth. Im not entirely sure but I think she's dying
Yes that's correct! She actually doesn't poop as often and when she does it's very watery. There's no blood either and her vent isn't swollen nor red but I will have to double check.
Okay that's good to here, I'll make sure the coop is probably dried out. I think my dad did clean it out but...

Thank you! I totally understand that this is simply guess work as there's no real way of knowing without the vets but I'll willing to try anything to save her.
I will try these antibiotics. Will any one do or is one better than the other?
Yes I have been force feeding her pellets crushed up with water. I'll get a electrolyte pack right away. I'll also try sugar water.
We actually brought her inside where it's warm, since it's raining and cold outside. And the only place outside is their coop. Can she infect humans?
Hi I apologize I wasn't very descriptive. So my neighbours are not chicken owners, but they were the only place we could leave our hens. I obviously now regret leaving then there. Is there a chance it could still be Coccidiosis?
I live in the South of the UK. Unfortunately my parents are...
My father examined her crop yesterday and said it was empty. I guess because she won't eat. We do try to force feed her a little because I don't want her to starve. I mash up her pellets and mix it with water to make it easier for her.
When my brother picked her up, he observed something soft...
Hi, my family are new chicken owners. We have 2 white Sussex hens. Recently we came back from holiday and found one of the hens incredibly ill. Whilst we were away we left her with relatives (I regret this greatly now!) And I think they told us that the hens coop would leak and get wet during...
