Hi there, looking for advice on recipes for both bone broth and stock. I just dispatched my first birds 5 cockerels). Want to use all of the birds (heads and feet). Is there a need to skim off froth or similar for bone broth?

Thanks - yes - I never breed from a frizzle hen - only from my smooth feathered hens - so hopefully won't get a frazzle :) So far so good on that front :)

I have a super cute blue mottle Belgian D'uccle - Danger Mouse. She has laid three eggs in two years. But she loves a good egg boast from time to time after sitting on other hens eggs. Has occasionally gone broody - but not for any significant amount of time. I would love her to lay and be able...

Just an update - the little one with the more mottled downy head has turned into a handsome little roo. The other into a beautifully frizzled girl. Pics to follow!

Btw, I am going with female - both are now showing evidence of the double length wing feathering of girls - but will let you know as they develop :)

Hi BYC, Just wondering if anyone else has had an experience with an Easter Egger (Marans Araucana cross) laying olive green and blue eggs? Can it vary that much? I'm mystified - I'm certain it has laid a pee wee blue coloured egg today, but prior to that thought it was laying green.
