Frizzle roosters - frizzle versus smooth gender specific offspring

Thanks - yes - I never breed from a frizzle hen - only from my smooth feathered hens - so hopefully won't get a frazzle :) So far so good on that front :)

Frizzle roosters - frizzle versus smooth gender specific offspring

Thanks so much - good to know - yes, suspect I haven't hatched enough for anything statistically significant. So far from 3 hatches with this combo, resulting in 3 frizzle girls and 2 roos (i've been introducing other genetics and types into the flock so to date have used my broodies to hatch...

Frizzle roosters - frizzle versus smooth gender specific offspring

Belgian D'Uccle lays about two eggs a year - what is going on?

I have a super cute blue mottle Belgian D'uccle - Danger Mouse. She has laid three eggs in two years. But she loves a good egg boast from time to time after sitting on other hens eggs. Has occasionally gone broody - but not for any significant amount of time. I would love her to lay and be able...

Can you sex my day olds from Marans x Araucanas (hens) + Silkie Wyandotte frizzle (roo)

Hi backyard chicken community, Just wanting to call on collective wisdom / experience and see if anyone wants to have a crack at sexing two day old chicks. They are a schmozzle of breeds - so have no idea whether they would have any traits for early sexing such as fast feathering or down...

Easter egger - egg colour blue somedays and green then next?

Hi BYC, Just wondering if anyone else has had an experience with an Easter Egger (Marans Araucana cross) laying olive green and blue eggs? Can it vary that much? I'm mystified - I'm certain it has laid a pee wee blue coloured egg today, but prior to that thought it was laying green.
