This is a link to an everyday candling of quail eggs. Ours look nearly as developed as the day 3 in this egg. Do you know why that is?
Thank you! I inserted the photos of the egg that hasn’t been incubated for comparison! Should’ve cleared that up better. Anyways, I’ll candle them again at 7 days!
Hello all,
We are on Day 3 1/2, I can’t tell if these guys are infertile, aren’t progressing or are on track. What do you all think?
First time incubating quail eggs here, thanks!!
The first picture is one that has been in the incubator and the second is one that has not been incubated at all.
We have 3 golden italian coturnix quails and had 1 Japanese quail but sadly, she got taken by a predator last night. My daughter is really sad about it because she hand raised that quail and loved her a lot. We have an incubator and she suggested we hatch the Japanese quail babies. The only...
We got these two silkies a few days ago and they are so so sweet! The woman who gave them to us wasn’t exactly sure what cothey would turn out to be. They may be a mix of two different colored silkies. What do you think? We’ve never had silkies and don’t know much about the color selection.
Alrighty, I guess we’re in for a wait! We have been spending so much time with these babies they’re going to be the friendliest chickens on our backyard farm!

Building an enclosure for her around the bush would have been very difficult because there are many branches. Unfortunately I think we have broken her😔 she isn’t acting broody at all anymore. She now has established that spot as the place she lays eggs and has even convinced her sister to lay...
I have a hen who I would love to raise some babies for us. A few days ago I noticed she wouldn’t come out of a bush to enjoy some treats (her biggest motivation) she was laying on 3 eggs and tucking them under her when I tested if she would . Coincidentally a friend is hatching chicks 5/5. We...
