I don't think the turkeys even notice the chickens since they are so much smaller, but they only have 2 now. The turkeys don't keep the coyotes away tho lol.
My Ameraucana will lay these massive delicious eggs when weather is nicer outside the coop but never in them. I wish they would developer animal communicators so we can understand their methods.
They like to lay in mu small stable when they go Brody, and thr girls know Ill put food and water next to them. Mine like seclusion when they go brody. You could try to make a small nest spot elsewhere then show them it. I did that and was lucky they accepted it.
Bad news the eggs werent fertile I guess, fed em to the dog and insoected them, have one left that seemed to have a vein or two. I put a clutch of 5 eggs under the one brody hen. Does anyone know how normal it is for a guiene hen to lay her eggs into a brody hens nest?
My basement stays relatively humid and I'll wet a rag twice a day, since you don't want too much humidity. I'm looking not to spend any money right now and just see how well it does basically dry hatching them. I'm using a 32 watt light bulb so it shouldn't dry them out reguardless. I have a hen...
I got new eggs and switched to a lower watt bulb so Ill post a pic if successful im 3 days, I'm on day 5 and not sure if ill see anything just yet. My guiena has been laying in the coop so threw one in to see what happens.
here's a pic of the inside, using cardboard egg box part and rag I dampen lightly 2x a day. Using an internal cooking thermometer which may not yield best results.
My girls have a nice clutch of eggs in the coop letting them keep since the snow keeps them inside more often.
Ok will do thanks, hell go to his first meeting next month so I can ask more. Hes easy to handle once you catch him but hes not super fast. Hes very independent and will do his own thing from the flock, I need to find the poor guy a girlfriend, he tries his luck with big red our sexlink lol.
Was just curious if my boy could show this in 4h if it would follow suit? Hes about to be 5 and just was wondering some input before he got all excited. Hes a very handsome guy but that doesnt always follow standrads.
Oh wow I really hope it wont come back. Thanks for telling me, I have yet to see it spread or come back. I keep two heat lamps on all winter. My 6 hens are still very productive as well. Maybe them passing it to the big male guinea would hurt hes s bully.
Its just a sexlink egg, but its my sexlink so it's specusl lol. Yet she lays everyday so not like I cant try again. I have 4 eggs left for the experiment.
I did feed it to the dog had a speck of blood after 4 days. Well looked like it.
They're all adults theyll all be a year old between months of March through June. Chaps looks a lot better than my neighbors Im gunna have a kid show him in 4H and the were taking over the world Muahahhaa.... Maybe a bit much.
Welcome,
Referring to goats have you seen anywhere to get black Bengal goats? Looking to starting a nice little herd of my own, but want that kind due to hearing they have great hides and tasty meat.
