I'm having a hard time telling the gender of this one. Father is buff orpington and mother is Rhode Island red, normally it's easier but this one has me confused. No crowing yet but I don't think it's old enough to anyway. Thanks!
I have this Americana mix that was injured in a fight between a bit bigger but same age hen. Now her jaw acts broken. It makes a crunchy sound and it's out of alignment as well as bleeding at the tip of the top beak.
What can I do for her? Will she be able to eat and live like this or do I have...
I have 2 geese, pure Cotton Patch and were sexed as goslings. Now at 6 months of age my "male" has been cornering me and then squatting, wings out head bowed and tail up, reminds me of my hens.
Does this mean he is a she? I'll add pic of them together. He's closer.
Thank you all. The last brown egg hatched and I have 2 black with yellow tipped wings, 2 solid yellow and then the unique one. Waiting to see if the other eggs hatch or if they failed.
That's why I was wondering. I've hatched before with the same flock but this is the first with this colors and patterns. Normally they're black with yellow on wings or solid yellow/orange. I'm obsessed with this little one. So beautiful ❤️
Edit: My husband just informed me that one of the RiR isn't a pure, she's a mix with Sapphire Splash from the last batch we had. I thought we had sold them all but he got attached to her. She just looks RiR so maybe she's the Mom?
I have a mixed group of pure breeds. One Buff Orpington Rooster...
Buddy of mine gave me these 2 gorgeous turkeys. They're mixed but I'm hoping I got one of each genders.
Also they're still in a brooder and I took them outside to the older chicken pin for pics.
I've been hearing a single crow coming from them. I haven't been able to catch who is doing it but I got a short video of them. These 3, the black and white ones and the red one are the ones I'm questioning on gender.
I got these awhile ago for free. My friend thinks they're all male. The breeds are a mixture so not sure how to tell. As of right now I'm not sure the ages either but I haven't heard any crowing yet.
I have a 3 month old cotton Patch female goose that is very aggressive towards my other livestock. The male is very gentle and sweet but the female will kill if she gets the chance.
Is this normal behavior? I read they were sweet and good with other livestock but this isn't the case with my...
I just switched from DuMOR 16% last week because my tractor supply was out! Must be one reason it started. I'll switch them back to it and see if it helps. I have some fake eggs that I can put in so maybe that would also help.
