    Help ID my Bantam chicks?

I have 4 new bantams. I got them at TSC, as well, that just said mixed bantams. I’ve tried to identify what breed they are, but have only successfully ruled what they’re NOT. Can anyone help?

I can tell who’s been drinking now, too! Water level is down and their lips are red! :D

    Abnormally Large Egg

I haven’t opened mine yet. But I’m really curious if it’s a double-yolker. Maybe tomorrow for breakfast:)

    Abnormally Large Egg

So, this was in my coop the other day. One of my Cornish Rocks left it for me! Ouch!

    Lets talk about goats!

I added the cherry koolaid to the water bucket today. They were quite interested but I didn’t see anyone drink. It has been rather chilly the last few days, so maybe they’re just not drinking as much? And I added it during the afternoon. I’ll keep an eye on the water level tomorrow. Thanks for...

    Lets talk about goats!

So, I gave my baby his CD/T shot this morning and gave him his dewormer this afternoon. I found a lamb/kid supplement/minerals that is supposed to provide nourishment and energy. This evening he was completely different! I let all 3 out of the pen while I was outside working (the older male...

    Lets talk about goats!

I have the CD/T shot and just waiting for the dewormer to come in. I have 2 other goats - a male that’s just about a year and a half old and a 6 month old female. The female we bought the week before we picked up the new little boy. She was never handled by people and was very skittish. Our male...

Straw in the run? Need advice

I can’t stand the straw! It’s great if it’s dry. But as soon as it rains, it’s a mucky stinky mess that just packs down from the chickens walking on it. I’m out there a couple of times a week mucking it out and hosing the concrete off under the coop. And my chickens stay so dirty. We are...

    Lets talk about goats!

I have the dewormer ordered. But I also have a bag of deworming pellets. It was recommended to me to use the liquid dewormer 3 times a year and use the pellets in between wormings. I spend a lot of time with him and bring him inside quite a bit. Another baby isn’t out of the question. Our pen is...

Is that possible? Because my thought was that he could be missing momma, but then thought I was being ridiculous.

    Lets talk about goats!

I will feed him more often and see if that helps. And he may be drinking more often than I think, just simply because I’m not out there all the time. I guess my worry is that he isn’t bouncy and silly and just seems sad. Does that make sense?

    Lets talk about goats!

I did mix the milk with the sweet grain for a couple of days last week. That’s when I noticed the diarrhea, so I took the milk out. And maybe “not very active” was a wrong choice of words. He’s active, just not very playful.

    Lets talk about goats!

I have a question about a 6 week old baby Nubian that I just picked up last weekend. I went out and got all the stuff that I needed to bottle feed... the Pritchard kid nipples, whole milk, buttermilk, evaporated milk (to make the concoction), and a probiotic for little man’s tummy. I knew...

    Hi from Northwest Florida

Hi, everyone! My name is Kristen and I’m fairly new to raising chickens. I bought 18 chicks back in August and have quite successfully raised them to laying age. I lost 2 babies in the beginning from the heat, but quickly found that placing a fan close to their hutch kept the air circulating...
