Hens are throwing all their feed out of the feeder and on to the ground

The entire reason for this thread is hens slinging feed…

Hens are throwing all their feed out of the feeder and on to the ground

But how many chickens can feed out of the Jetdog feeder? I’ve got 35 hens… I know I’ll need more than one, but how many?

    What’s wrong with my duck?

I don’t know of a vet around here that will see poultry-unless I take her to the college... which never ends up good.

    What’s wrong with my duck?

I have 9 ducks total. All are together. No one else has these symptoms. As I stated in my original post-she eats and drinks just fine. She swims as well. The other ducks have taken to bullying her this past week.

    What’s wrong with my duck?

Poor girl, she does this constantly. When left alone, the only noise she makes is a squeak. Almost like a hiccup, but not as constant. When I pick her up and she panics, she quacks. She has lost weight and spends a lot of time laying down, facing a corner or the fence. She eats. She drinks. She...

    Laying Patterns-

We’ve got two 6 month old Saxony hens that we know are finally laying. And we also have Five four month old hens (2 Cayuga and 3 Saxony) and two 4 month old drakes. My question is- Is it possible that the younger ladies can/will start laying at 4 months old due to the influence (biological...

Duck shakes with excitement....? (Vibrating ducks)

Hmmm. I’ve got a five month old Saxony female that I nursed back to life after coons invaded their enclosure and gutted all 11 of her friends. She’s blind in one eye, but that is all that is left of her wounds. She is nervous, rightfully so, but is successfully living with another Saxony female...

Can I introduce new ducklings to my 4 month old ducks?

Perfect timing on this thread... we are in the exact same boat. I’ve got 2 five month old ducks and 7 five week olds. We re-introduced them yesterday (the babies were in one side of our broader and the two older ones were on the other side-so they heard, smelled, and saw each other for at...

    My Australorps are Total Pains!

Nope. As soon as new growth appears-they pick it down to the skin. We’ve treated them multiple times with no lasting success. We are desperately looking for new homes for them, which proves to be a dang near impossible mission given their appearance.

    My Australorps are Total Pains!

We have 4 leghorns-but they are all hens. We do have one with a rather large comb... but when I watched an egg come right out of her behind I squashed all doubts in regards to her gender!

    My Australorps are Total Pains!

I am sure the baldies are Aussies completely and solely based on what I was told- however we have two Aussies in our home flock (that I’m 100% sure of) and they are jerky as well.

    My Australorps are Total Pains!

The Aussies are the baldies... and they pick on everyone.
