Looking for recommendations for things to put in my brooder to keep my 14 chicks active and interested. I have no idea what breeds I have, so if you have guesses, please let me know.
My chicken coop is upcycled from my kids’ old play set. Therefore, the floor is the ground. Can I use the deep litter method in this instance? Also, what if I don’t need fertilizer for my garden, what should I do with the litter that I remove?
I hatched 20 out of 23 eggs in an incubator in my classroom. The chicks are now 3 weeks old. I plan to only keep the females, but I’ll have to wait until they are older to tell them apart. I want to raise them to be friendly and not scared of me. What is the best way to hold and pet them?

I'm trying to hatch eggs in an incubator in my classroom. I candled last night after day 10. No sign of life :( I'm going to start a new batch of eggs tomorrow, from different chickens. What should I do with my old eggs?
