Following...my Plymouth Rock has done the same to one of my RIRs. Her bottom looks like your gal’s. I’ve heard some say put Vicks in their feathers as that deters the others from pecking. I haven’t tried that yet but soon will as I’m starting to get desperate.
Toss a tiny bit of scratch in the cups. They will peck the scratch grains and inadvertently peck the yellow doohickey thingy, realize water comes out of it and continue to peck at it. My gals figured it out within minutes.
