Lice in the winter, below freezing temps...

Someone recommended Eprinex. I think it sounds like a simple treatment for winter application. Looks like there is an egg withdrawal period of 14 days per application?

Lice in the winter, below freezing temps...

Hello! I recently learned that my chickens have lice. I would TYPICALLY use Elector PSP spray, but because of the below freezing temps (and winter in general) I am not sure it is the product to use now. I am looking for recommendations for products that work and egg withdrawal period (if there...

Can you “break” a bully hen?

Don’t let her good looks fool you... This beautiful girl is a BULLY to one of my other chickens. Both are Delawares. Pictured is Matilda, I have had her about a year now. She is part of my original flock of 3. This past fall, I added 3 more to my flock. She has been a bully to the new...

    White dogwood (cornus alba)

I have a patch of these bushes in my yard and I would like to put my temporary fencing around them to give the girls shade and more protection from hawks... But I do not know if they are safe for the girls to be in. One or 2 sites say no, the rest yes... so confused.

Wondering how you have set up the inside of smaller coops

I hope to only have them “cooped up” during our cold winter days. The winters here on the front range in Colorado have been quite mild the past few years... I have been doing everything I can to ensure that their run is secure. Making myself a little crazy trying to make it as tough as...

Wondering how you have set up the inside of smaller coops

Please share the inside of your smaller coops. I have a 5x6 coop that we built this spring. I am not 100% happy with the way the plans have the roosts set up. I am wondering how others have set up the inside of their smaller coops. Where are your roosts? Food and water? Thanks!
