    Do my chickens need grit?

My chickens are only 2 months, so their chick grit is smaller than the picture I have shown.

    Do my chickens need grit?

I have an area of my yard fenced off that they get to roam in (about 100ft in diameter) and it’s made up of Monat Ky grass but I carry in 5 gallon buckets of dirt and lay it in the bottom of their run and a few spots around the coop for dirt bathing. I’m at the tail end of my bag of grit and...

When can they go out to the coop?

So since I have been putting them outside for a few weeks all day, can I let them out of the coop to free range or should I keep them in for a couple days?

Anyone know the breed on this one? And she is a hen right?

That’s great! I live in Minnesota so it can get cold in the winter so I am happy I didn’t end up with a bird that doesn’t handle cold well!

When can they go out to the coop?

No I should have specified in my post, I have not had them on heat for probably 3-4 weeks now since they are in my house. They are in the coop all day long and only in before I go to bed, so I should be able to leave them out all night now too?

I have 4 chicks that are almost 7 weeks old, I keep them inside my house at night and put them back outside in the coop during the day. The temp here averages in the 70’s but sometimes gets in the 80’s or down to the 50’s, at night it is in the 40’s usually. When can I start leaving them outside...
