I have 4 chicks that are almost 7 weeks old, I keep them inside my house at night and put them back outside in the coop during the day. The temp here averages in the 70’s but sometimes gets in the 80’s or down to the 50’s, at night it is in the 40’s usually. When can I start leaving them outside permanently?

No I should have specified in my post, I have not had them on heat for probably 3-4 weeks now since they are in my house. They are in the coop all day long and only in before I go to bed, so I should be able to leave them out all night now too?

So since I have been putting them outside for a few weeks all day, can I let them out of the coop to free range or should I keep them in for a couple days?

I have a mama that hatched 8 eggs. These guys just turned 2 weeks old and mama has them out in the sunshine in a pen so they are protected. Mom makes all the decisions - I love it, I wouldn't be so brave as she is. She is a fierce little hen & boy oh boy you better not frighten her chicks!!! I love the way she teaches them what is OK to eat & what isn't. She pecks different kinds of grasses & drops down to the chicks & then gives them that special "eat" cluck and the babies go to it. This is my first broody hen and I think her first brood. She is doing an awesome job, I can hardly walk away - I want to watch them all day long!!
