BROODER thread! Post pics of your brooders!

I don't have any photos, but we use a shower😂 We cover the drain with cardboard and build cardboard walls, then fill it with shavings and put in our heat lamp, feeder, and waterer

    BROODY HEN

It depends on your hen. Sometimes your hen will accept the babies and sometimes they won't. We had a hen that only hatched one baby, so we tried to add more, but she did not want them and was perfectly fine with the one she had. First Time Incubating... Any Tips?

So one day I got bored and decided to see what it would look like if a silkie and a turken mixed... turned out that there are actual breeds called Showgirl Silkies. Since we have a silkie roo and a turken hen, we thought this might be fun to try. My kids all thought that these look hilarious so...

Mixing three week olds into existing babies

Last summer we added some day-old chicks with 4-week old chicks and they integrated just fine! I think since they are babies they don't really care.;)

    Help with gender!

The barred rocks definitely look like cockerels to me. I have never had Welsummers before, but the comb does look quite big and dark, especially since it is only 3.5 weeks old.
