i have 6 ducklings they are 10 days old. I live in Arizona where it is over 100 degrees outside and sunny for a good 4-5 hours of the day. I was wondering when they would be able to go outside and play in the kiddie pool. Right now they play in the sink and LOVE it. I blow dry them afterwards. I...
This post is just to thank everyone for all of the help while my ducks were in the incubator. All 7 eggs hatched and they all seem happy and healthy now! Thank you!!!
I have a duck that pipped on the correct end of the egg (large side) but pipped on the bottom or side of the egg (not near the air pocket). It has been 2 days now and he has made a small amount of progress. He just stuck his foot out of the hole he made so I’m assuming he is kicking. Should I...
My first duckling just hatched and I have a few questions if someone could help
1. What should temp and humidity be now that he is hatched?
2. Does it hurt the other eggs if he bumps and rolls them?
3. I have a sponge in there to keep humidity up. He decided to go lay on it. Is that okay or...
my fist duckling just hatched and I have a few questions if anyone could help!
1. What should the temp and humidity be for the duckling inside the incubator now that it’s out of shell?
2. I have a sponge in the incubator to keep humidity up, he decided to go lay on it. Should I remove it? Or...
He just knocked another piece off of the shell there and he is still pushing I think I can see his beak gong in and out so I think I’m just going to leave him to keep working on it
He chipped away at another good size piece last night in this position on its side that I moved it to so is it okay I just leave it alone ? Or should I still try to rotate him up? 3 of my other eggs have cracked the shells but are not all the way through yet to where there is a hole. And the...
I can’t get a good photo because I don’t want to open the lid. It is the egg direct center. He chipped a good size piece out of the shell off where that yellowish spot is on the side. I rotated it to that position it was underneath the egg. 1. Is that yellowish spot him? Or is that a weird...
Yes the lowest side of the air was up on the top of the egg( they are laying down on their sides) and he pipped on the bottom side of the egg not near the air cell. If I were to rotate it completely so that the pip was up towards the ceiling, the lowest part of the air cell would then be below...
When you say you turn it upward do you mean like flip it 180degrees? So it was facing down now it’s directly up on the opposite side? Or do you just mean turn it up slightly so you can see it and so it’s not directly below the egg?
I have not tried to open the shell at all. A chunk of the shell is off at the bottom of the egg. Should i quickly see if his beak is there to see if he is breathing ? I don’t want him to drown should I flip IT?
