Thanks. I’m trying not to worry since they don’t have any other symptoms. I wouldn’t worry at all if they were my own stock but these are hatching eggs from a breeder I’m not all that familiar with. Thanks for your help!
I have 3 day old chicks with diarrhea and I’m concerned about coccidiosis. I would treat with corid except for the fact that I don’t have any and can’t get to the store today or tomorrow due to a snow storm. Is there anything else I can give them until I can get to the store?
Edit - The only...
True Silkie showgirls aren’t crosses but I do believe you’re right that these may be crosses because of the weird combs. Showgirl isn’t an actual breed but a naked neck Silkie or satin. These don’t look like pure silkies. Me personally, I wouldn’t spend more than $5 for each.
Report them to who?? 🤣 Breeders have a right to charge whatever they want for their chickens. If you don’t like the price, find another breeder. I’ve bred these for over three years and they are very difficult to sex.
These look more like Silkie crosses to me. The comb on the white one is wrong. Without knowing their genetic history I can’t say for sure but they do both look like boys. The blue MIGHT be female but hard to say.
These aren't my work, but aren't they beautiful? I ordered these from hatching eggs from a breeder in Michigan. I'm super happy with how they look and hope to someday make birds this beautiful.
I’m thinking of switching from dust to liquid because dust is so messy. I got the dosing ratio down (2 teaspoons to 1 quart water) but how exactly do I treat them? The instructions say to spray them but I don’t want to get any in their eyes. Can I use a dropper like I do when I use ivermectin...
