    "Vomiting" hen?

Oh wow. Would be risky to experiment with the medication then. Think I'll read some more before buying anything. May try to see if I can find an avian vet. Thanks for all the facts.

    "Vomiting" hen?

Thanks for the possible "reality check". Hopefully I'll have better luck, but I will bear what you've said in mind so I won't get a shocker if things turn out worse. I'll try checking on some antibiotics to see if it may improve or correct a possible peritonitis problem. Hopefully taking infront...

    "Vomiting" hen?

Thank you so much for your comprehensive response. It is very helpful. I've read the article; very informative. Without even knowing it, yesterday, I was massaging her crop & now I know why liquid came out her beak, which clearly was the desired result. This morning she already seems improved...

    "Vomiting" hen?

My Rhode Island Red, Mumfie, is now 2 3/4yrs old. We live in a tropical island, Trinidad. Today I noticed she was very lethargic, not eating & hardly moving around. She basically stayed in the same place for practically the whole day. This morning I gave her a warm Epsom salts soak for 15mins...

    What age does laying stop

Thanks for your response & suggestions. It's always hot in the Caribbean where I'm from. We have 2 Seasons...Wet & Dry. We're now entering the wet season, so as a result it's a bit cooler now. I do provide oyster shells (separately)which I'm not sure if they ever eat...they don't seem to like...

    What age does laying stop

Sure it does. They are pets with a purpose. I looked forward to the 2 eggs almost daily. Now there's nothing. Back to buying eggs. Still love them though & waiting to see if they'll resume. They'll always be my pets.

    Do chickens cough?

Thank you so very much. He seems to be improving every day. No visible signs of what you described I have not checked inside his beak yet because I have no one to help me to do this and he will not sit still for that . However since he seems more energetic and has none of the other signs...

    Paper eaters

This is soooo helpful. I'm really pleased that I joined this group. I have one rooster and two hens and have always wondered what I should do in terms of feed because I just buy the laying feed. I will now inquire from the feed shops if they sell what you talk about. I have not noticed if...

    Paper eaters

Appreciate the response & advice. I'm really learning a lot from this group. When I give them treats I don't mix the treats with their feed it's just little snacks in between which consists sometimes of oats mixed with Granola & sometimes a little cracked corn. They love rice treats too &...

Thank you for all your advise. I will keep you posted. Also I've been putting a few drops of molasses in his water. One of our Caribbean remedies to fix everything. LOL
