Do chickens cough?

Thank you so very much.
He seems to be improving every day.
No visible signs of what you described I have not checked inside his beak yet because I have no one to help me to do this and he will not sit still for that . However since he seems more energetic and has none of the other signs and his coughing
more or less has disappeared, I am just observing at this point .

Glad he is better. Sometimes you can wait until they are on the roost at night and pick them up and examine things or give medications. Of course with a rooster, I might need a chair to sit in, and I wear a head lamp flashlight. That way, you can hold them under your arm and manage opening the beak by squeezing the sides. It takes some practice by yourself. It amazes me how some people on here can manage all that and take pictures.
