Yes! This is what I have been syring feeding her. And even then she won't eat the mash unless we syring feed her or drink unless we hold the water Infront of her 😂
Hello,
I posted a few days ago about my duck who got attacked by a fox. She's going really well (slowly getting perkier each day). She went to the vet, had her wounds thoroughly washed out and given a course of both antibiotics and pain relief. She was also give critical care feed to...
I have managed to get some syringes of wet pellets mixed with a little bit of honey into her, I have just put it in her mouth and she has been happily swallowing. I've been doing this every hour (just a bit at a time). I think the harder foods might just be too much as her neck is sore.
She's...
She's not exactly eating and drinking on her own. When I hold water and mashed food pellets in front of her she will have some but won't take any when she is in her crate. Still very withdrawn but a little more alert!! wounds are looking good too!
I want to say it's looking positive but I don't...
Do you know if I can let her have a warmish bath to clean? She's very withdrawn at the moment so I don't know if she would do much apart from stand there
I just woke up for work and she's still with us! She can stand fine and moves slightly. Just comes across as a little sad and scared. Hasn't eaten anything and I don't know if she has drunk. Will she be okay or should I try entice her to eat x
I have cleaned the wounds with antiseptic wash and added some antibiotic powder to the wound. She has had a dose of metacam and will have another on in the morning. If she gets through the night I shall take her to the vets for some antibiotics x
Thank you, I used some antibacterial wash that my vet gave me when one of my others had a wound (I can't remember it's name). I have cleaned it for tonight although it's still bleeding a little bit so I shall give it a night to heal the. Get on with trimming feathers and washing out again...
Awesome. I will let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed 🤞 I think she might be alright if she makes it through the night. She managed to lay and egg in the box a hour after the attack even though she was in shock x
Here are the photos. I tried to get some which show the wounds but I didn't want to stress her out.
The puncture wounds are one/two on either side of her neck and the skin being removed is just a small area on her back and wings.
I have some metacam but it's for dogs. If this is okay to use...
