Agreed! I'm not really horrified by the nature of duck mating. I know it's really rough, but I think maybe we can all tend to compare it too much to humanized behaviors sometimes. The ducks I've known had a favorite drake and would constantly beg for his attention and so I knew they were happy... -

Update #9: Moony: (5 weeks) Holly & Puddles: (4 weeks 3 days) All signs of angel wing are completely gone! It only took two nights of wrapping and fixed itself right up. I'm also planning to upgrade their feeder within a day or two as it looks like its getting harder for them to shovel enough... -

How old is Poppy? Do you have a video of her making sounds? She looks like she's old enough that you could definitely tell if she was quacking or making the croaking sounds of a drake by now. I'm bad at judging drake feathers so I'll say I'm not sure there but it does look like a curl to me. -

Scared my duck will die
I believe that only millipedes release a smell when endangered to protect themselves. They are both non toxic (but nasty!) if eaten and not venomous if they bite. Many centipede are venomous when they bite but should not usually kill or seriously hurt a duck. Your duck should be fine :) -

Perhaps you could keep her in a bathroom or bath tub? It sounds like you have your hands full with school. Maybe your parents can help take care of her while you are away? I would definitely not recommend putting her back outside since she needs to avoid infection and keep away from flies. -
